Patience is a virture :)

Yawwwwn is all I have to say about today. My morning started at 4:30 am. I don’t think the bush babies were even awake at this time? We all loaded in the driving school bus with a hysterical driver who owned the driving school and taught our classes. As we were waiting in the cold darkness beside the desolate road, we heard music in the distance followed by headlights and a white van. The van pulled up and a big jolly local man stepped out and greeted us with a laugh I will never forget. After we had hesitantly loaded up in the vehicle, we headed off to the sound of Cat Stevens “Peace Train” blaring loudly over the speakers again and again. It was very entertaining and kept me awake for the hour long ride

When we arrived at the DMV, it looked like a Justin Beiber concert. The line was very long and wrapped around the side of the building . We were warned it was going to take all day and we were going to have to be patient. As we headed for the back of the  line everyone starred at us, because I’m guessing we were the only tourist  to come through that place! Instantly,we decided to make ourselves at home and laid our blankets out on the dirt, sat down and studied or slept. We couldn’t help but notice the increase of stars and laughter since we were the only ones out of a few hundred people that were lying down , but we didn’t care because sleep was a luxury to us.

After about an hour we managed to move up a couple spaces and decided it was time to eat breakfast. We went through our cooler box and dispersed some butter and cheese sandwiches, tea and  juice. As we sat stuffing our faces, I knew the locals were waiting for us to pull out inflatable sofas and a portable T.V. Another hour had passed until the DMV finally opened. After 5 hours of many lines and paperwork, we were finally free to go. The mood was quiet as we were all  miserable, cranky, sunburnt and tired , despite all the humorous efforts to keep things fun. Never will I complain about another line in the States again!
